Gender & Sexuality
Morgan Justice, born in Huntsville, Alabama, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and a minor in women’s studies. Her concentration in the joint M.A./Ph.D. at Georgia State University is in gender and sexuality, where she is expanding on her current research on gender maneuvering in lesbian spaces. In addition to gender and sexuality research, Morgan is also interested in pursuing research on the prison industrial complex, specifically at the intersection of race, class, and gender, and the movements for prison abolition. She draws her inspiration from writers, educators, and activists such as Angela Davis, bell hooks, Audre Lorde and Dorothy Allison, among many others. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, kayaking, hiking, and spending time with her furry, four-legged loves, Mumphy and Ruthie B.
