Gender, sexuality, transgender studies, non-binary gender expression, Gender identity formation and expression in 21st century United States
As an agender transgender woman I have a vested interest in the research that I do, particularly around non-binary gender and non-binary gender potentialities in the 21st century in the United States. In addition to being a scholar I am also an activist and organizer. My activism and organizing has mostly focused on spaces within universities and has been both through and outside of those spaces. I have particularly focused on queer students and queer folks who find themselves engaging with universities, particularly with consideration of material resources, of which the university often overlooks and underfunds.
As a scholar I have presented at the Southeast Women’s Studies Association Conference, The National Women’s Studies Association Conference, and at Queer Research Day at Kennesaw State University. In addition to pursuing my PhD in Sociology I am also pursuing a graduate certificate in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Gender studies may be my more true home as a scholar.
