M.A. in Sociology

The Department of Sociology at Georgia State University offers a unique master’s degree program designed to train students to become research leaders in applied sociology or non-profit and governmental programs. It highlights methods and data analysis while offering theoretical training in one or more areas of choice.

Qualified students are accepted into the M.A. Program after completing a baccalaureate degree. This program is appropriate for students who are interested in a terminal, professional degree designed to qualify them for work in research, non-profit organizations, or other social service analysis or decision making field. This program is NOT appropriate for students who are interested in a Ph.D.
