Melanie Covert is a licensed professional counselor. She possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Kennesaw State University and a Master of Science degree Clinical Counseling Psychology from Brenau University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Sociology concentrating in race and urban studies. Her research focuses on education and assimilation in the lives of American-Romani women. Her teaching experience includes Introductory Sociology, Social Psychology, Cross Cultural Psychology, Introductory Psychology, Human Growth and Development, and Introduction to College Life. She is also conducting research and workshops on improving minority access to mental health services. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia. She is member of ASA, APA and LPCA of Georgia.
